This quilt was made by a local family here in Lamoni, Iowa. Each stitch was done by hand. They don't use a sewing machine, and take great pride in making the stitches as even as possible. This quilt is one-of-a-kind and will add a special touch to your home. 

The art of making a quilt by hand is something the Amish pass down from generation to generation. As you watch a grandmother stitch, the children gather around to watch. They learn the special techniques of how to make the stitches even and smooth. 

Each quilt takes about 6 months to make, and usually involves the entire family helping out as they have time. With this quilt, you are getting a special piece of Amish life and family time.
